Creative Guidance

My friend Josh sent me a text asking for some creative guidance. He is an accountant by day, but expanding his creative directions. I responded with this below:

I watch other artists.
Read blogs.
Keep a journal of my ideas.
Re-visit those ideas to polish them.
A lot of times I throw them away.
Distance from the idea gives you perspective.
Manage your time. Don’t waste it.
That’s the easiest thing to do. Act creative but make nothing.
Set goals. Easy and achievable goals.
Incrementally build it.
Bring in and welcome criticism.
Know when to keep and throw away criticism.
In the end, make make make. If you don’t, it’s just an idea.
